An online meeting was held with representatives of Steve Born, Advisor of the UK-based CityUK, and Mr. Christopher Campbell Holt OBE, legal counsel and arbitrator at the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC).

B. Saranchimeg, Governor of the Sustainable Development Goals Center for Mongolia (SDG Center), held an online meeting with representatives of Steve Born, Advisor at CityUK in the UK, and Mr. Christopher Campbell Holt OBE, legal counsel, arbitrator, and member of the AIFC Court.

During the meeting, they discussed the current progress of the SDG Center’s projects, the legal framework, business advantages, and the experience and challenges related to arbitration and courts at the AIFC. They also explored the legal draft and necessary conditions for establishing an IFC in Mongolia, as well as the potential for cooperation in implementing these measures.

Mr. Campbell Holt expressed interest in visiting Mongolia to explore collaboration opportunities and to organize an introductory event, and they agreed to clarify the terms and timeline for consulting services. This process is considered a vital step toward developing Mongolia’s new economic free zone and promoting smart, mutually beneficial investment collaboration.
